Exclusive: Life On The Sideline EP announcement, music video premiere
Since releasing Honesty Is A Dying Breed two years ago, Life On The Sideline has remained active on the road and is now ready to unveil its upcoming EP, Never Settle. To kick things off, we're premiering the music video for the band's new single, "Echo", which tells the sad story of a young girl reminiscing times spent with her deceased partner. While not a pop punk song per se, it's as catchy as one with an infectious chorus that you'll inevitably get stuck in your head. The band's sound could be compared to that of Transit's and The Early November's. Fans can pre-order the EP on iTunes and CD here, before it's released on June 7th. […]

Review: Kill It With Fire! - "We're Not Coming Back Your Way" EP
Kill It With Fire! is a Pop Punk/Easycore band from Powys in the UK, and are on the verge of releasing their brand new EP, We're Not Coming Back Your Way, on Hang Tight Records. Produced by Chris Coulter, the EP delivers traditional styles in a non-traditional way.
It could be that British accents have a way of adding a certain level of class to almost anything, but it definitely works in the band's favour. At heart, the band plays Pop Punk, with various aspects of Easycore sprinkled on top, and even some trance-influenced synths. We Don't Need Fireworks To Look This Good is the kick starter, with probably the most Easycore elements incorporated. This is always a story with two sides, since there are as many fans who seek strictly Easycore bands, as there are listeners who demand more. The introduction sounds all too familiar, but it's the type that never gets old to some. The next track is Ales, Fails And Whale Tails, a significantly more mellow effort with whoa-powered choruses. Further highlighting the vocals, this song also shows us the band's cleaner, poppier side. Don't Look Me Up, the first single, reiterates what the EP has thus far offered, accompanied with a decent amount of gang vocals. One of the most notable positives about the release, is that even though Kill It With Fire! can be classified as an Easycore, they don't set out to fill every song with excessive breakdowns and heavy vocals. The EP finishes off with Afterparty, the catchiest of the lot. This is also the track to make the most use of synths; an element not overly encountered in Pop Punk, though typically not entirely unique. Where another band may've chosen to end the song with a recycled breakdown, Kill It With Fire! opted to blend their trance influences, which makes for a very unique outro.
While designed for certain audiences, I think We're Not Coming Back Your Way has potential, though not a record to be written twice. Remember, the EP drops on September 7th via Hang Tight Records, and can also be streamed here.
