Exclusive: Life On The Sideline EP announcement, music video premiere

Since releasing Honesty Is A Dying Breed two years ago, Life On The Sideline has remained active on the road and is now ready to unveil its upcoming EP, Never Settle. To kick things off, we're premiering the music video for the band's new single, "Echo", which tells the sad story of a young girl reminiscing times spent with her deceased partner. While not a pop punk song per se, it's as catchy as one with an infectious chorus that you'll inevitably get stuck in your head. The band's sound could be compared to that of Transit's and The Early November's. Fans can pre-order the EP on iTunes and CD here, before it's released on June 7th. […]

Review: We Still Dream - "Therapy" EP

Release InfoWe Still Dream - Therapy EP
Release Date: July 10, 2012
Pre-order: Digital/CD/merch

The Pop Punk five-piece from Jacksonville, Florida, We Still Dream, is getting ready to self-release their 3-song EP, Therapy. It’s predecessor, Chapters, gained a good amount of attention with its catchy choruses and fast tempos. The new EP truly shows their potential to write catchy, and mature Pop songs. This band is the perfect Summer band.

The first song, Copouts And Cover Ups, leads off with the harsh yet smooth vocal melodies into very energetic intro. This song was released as the single and for obvious reasons. It is a well-thought out and well-organized Pop Rock song and should be placed on every Summer playlist.

Endless is the only other full-band song off the EP. This song sounds like it describes the struggles of trying to be in a touring band, but the music makes it not seem so hard. We Still Dream added a lot more guitar melodies and harmonies on this EP compared to Chapters. Their songs have a lot of high-end sounds, which makes it sound happy and upbeat. In my opinion, Endless is the best organized and executed song on the EP.

Stand Still is the token acoustic song on the EP. This song shows how versatile the band is with writing music. This song is a nice smooth song, and shows the true talent of Dustin Monk (vocals). I’ve had the opportunity to see We Still Dream before and they are a very exciting, tight, and energetic band and this recording definitely captures all of that. I believe We Still Dream has found their niche in terms of Pop/Rock songs. The sound as a whole reminds me of Hit The Lights and Motion City Soundtrack. It has the potential to be played on the radio and listened to by a wide audience. I found Therapy to be a teaser of what's to come and left me wanting more songs.
