All Heart was a Hawaiian five-piece that broke up in January of 2011, and although they don't take us too far back, a few of us still sorely miss them. The band's name fit their essence extremely well, with a sound that was a perfect balance between pop punk and hardcore, unmatched to this day. In 2008 the band released the Slumber Party EP, later a self-titled EP in 2009, and finally, the debut album, There's No Place Like Home, in 2010, which was also ICE GRILL$ Records' first release. Sonically, the record was much more polished and breathed new life into some older tracks, while also taking the band to the next level. Despite hailing from a rather remote location, All Heart managed to tour the full US and even Japan. These are all reasons why I believe that their time was cut too short. Following their demise, several members then went on to form a melodic hardcore group called Ill Stance, which recently played its final show in Honolulu.
Whenever I listen to All Heart, I go through their entire discography, which happens quite often. They're just that kind of band to me. The self-titled EP is still one of my personal all-time favourites. Exclusive: Life On The Sideline EP announcement, music video premiere
Since releasing Honesty Is A Dying Breed two years ago, Life On The Sideline has remained active on the road and is now ready to unveil its upcoming EP, Never Settle. To kick things off, we're premiering the music video for the band's new single, "Echo", which tells the sad story of a young girl reminiscing times spent with her deceased partner. While not a pop punk song per se, it's as catchy as one with an infectious chorus that you'll inevitably get stuck in your head.
