Exclusive: Life On The Sideline EP announcement, music video premiere

Since releasing Honesty Is A Dying Breed two years ago, Life On The Sideline has remained active on the road and is now ready to unveil its upcoming EP, Never Settle. To kick things off, we're premiering the music video for the band's new single, "Echo", which tells the sad story of a young girl reminiscing times spent with her deceased partner. While not a pop punk song per se, it's as catchy as one with an infectious chorus that you'll inevitably get stuck in your head. The band's sound could be compared to that of Transit's and The Early November's. Fans can pre-order the EP on iTunes and CD here, before it's released on June 7th. […]

Run For The Skylines Announce Break-Up

Due to member differences, Run For The Skylines have broken up. Click the Read More… link to read the statement.

Dear friends and fans, James here…

As much as it breaks my heart to do this, after an album and EP, three music videos, two tours, and countless shows, photo shoots, studio times, hang out sessions, etc. it's time to end this band's run as Run For The Skylines. It's been nothing less an amazing ride and we have no one else to thank but you. This has been an amazing time in all of our lives.

Due to member differences, it just wasn't working out as much as it should have been and wasn't feeling it anymore. I'm of course talking personally when I say all this. Before our last tour I was very close to considering different options with music. Me and Chris are the only two original members of this band. As one of the original members, I felt a little out of place with my own band that I started from the beginning. It wasn't that I didn't like the music, members, image or anything, I just felt like I shouldn't be a part of it. After our tour this past January I gained faith. The crowd and shows went incredible. I was so much more comfortable with this band that I even began to write a new EP that we had recently announced our recording for and released a single, White Out. In the past two months, we have all been working full time, going to school, and not focused much on this band. Our single White Out was a great milestone for this band but not what I wanted. It was written very differently and the vocals are the opposite direction I had hoped for.

Like I said this is me speaking personally, but the whole band has talked and we have all decided that this band is not what we want to do. We all have different ideas and a musician can tend to get a little stubborn. I'm sure a lot of you can understand that.

That being said, the members that have the same ideas will be continuing together as a separate group writing all new material. We will be posting on this page soon about everyone's future musical endeavor's.

To all the musician's out there, I wanna leave you with this note. No matter how much music you write, no matter what type of band you're in, no matter what you do in life, If you do any type of music activity or play any type of music, make sure your heart is with it. If your soul isn't into your work, it's not meant to be. Go with where your heart is. Put your soul into your music and it will be as great as you want it to be.

I want to thank any fan who has came to a show, any friend who has supported us, any promoter that has given us a show, anyone that has liked a post, retweeted a tweet, watched a youtube video, watched us at a local bar, given us a place to sleep on tour, bought our cd on iTunes, bought a shirt at a show or online, or even looked at our horrible name and gave us a quick listen, YOU brought this band to what it has been and YOU helped us maintain as a pretty successful local band ever since our first show December 26th, 2009 at some shitty bar thats closed now. And in the words of Fall Out Boy, "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"

Stay tuned for what's to come.
You guys have been amazing and I owe every ounce of success to you guys, thanks again so much.

- James
