Most people wouldn't consider a band that contains members still attending High School to be veterans, but Turnover, from Virginia Beach, VA, have already put out a 4-song demo, a 5-song EP on Broken Rim Records, have a split 7" coming out next Spring with Citizen on Broken Rim Records and Mightier Than Swords Records, and are currently working on a debut full-length. Turnover has absolutely astounded me with their self-titled EP. Even though it is short I'm amazed it hasn't graced more End Of The Year lists. Expect Turnover to make a lasting impression in 2012. I'd be surprised if this band didn't blow up in a very similar way to The Story So Far. Turnover is young, talented and full of potential, ready to break into the scene next year. Unfortunately with their school schedule Turnover's current drawback is their tour schedule, but they are expected to hit the road in full force next summer. Check out the acoustic version of their song Waiting to hold you over until their upcoming split is released. Do yourself a favor and listen to their song Sasha, it was definitely in my top 5 songs of the year. Click the Read More… link to stream the EP.
Exclusive: Life On The Sideline EP announcement, music video premiere
Since releasing Honesty Is A Dying Breed two years ago, Life On The Sideline has remained active on the road and is now ready to unveil its upcoming EP, Never Settle. To kick things off, we're premiering the music video for the band's new single, "Echo", which tells the sad story of a young girl reminiscing times spent with her deceased partner. While not a pop punk song per se, it's as catchy as one with an infectious chorus that you'll inevitably get stuck in your head. The band's sound could be compared to that of Transit's and The Early November's. Fans can pre-order the EP on iTunes and CD here, before it's released on June 7th. […]
